There is no plug-in for PP 2.0 nor is there likely to be one. Like hundreds, or even thousands of Storm users, you will be best off with using the Storm as a door-stopper or any other dust-gathering appliance, just remove it from your system.

OHCI works very well with PremPro.

If you want to make your name, Migraine…. continue with the Storm.
If you want a headache-free solution, part from the Storm. It is no match.

Try without the Matrox and use a simple OHCI for capture and standard PP settings. Do you still have the sync problems after this approach, let us know.

  • Peter,

Haven’t tried it, so I may be off base, but would the following approach be workable:

Unlink audio and video, copy the audio track twice to 2 new audio tracks, use Fill Left on one and Fill Right on the other track and then delete the original track or disable it. Your master track will still be stereo, but comprises both the left and right channel, due to the filters. Now you can apply filters to each track to improve the sound.

I sympathize with the problems you encounter. It is very frustrating to have an instable system, but IMO this is largely due to the fact that you still have the DVStorm installed in your system. Even with PP1.5 there were numerous bugs, shortcomings and failures that were never properly adressed by Canopus. They have their future on Edius, not on Premiere.

I have used the DVStorm for years and it was, with Premiere 6.0 and 6.5, a great card, apart from the sudden crashes. With the advent of PremPro, it became unuseable and you were better off to tear it out of your system and use it as a dust gathering bin in your garage.

PP 2.0 works quite stable in an OHCI environment. I suggest you completely remove all Canopus drivers and hardware from your system and you will notice a marked improvement in responsiveness and stability.
