I was supposed to test one of those cards for stability and usefulness but it didn’t work out. I got lost in their system.

My real problem with the package is that I already own Premiere Pro CS3 through the ownership of the Production Premium suite. So why would I want to pay again. Has anyone seen a price for just the board?

My guess is that their marketing department is as lame as Adobe’s. If you own After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Ultra and just want to get the rest of the Production Premium suite, you have to pay the same as someone who only owns one product. Lame. Very lame.

FYI, Matrox has a hardware only price now, I seen it on their website/press-release somewhere, check it out

Yes, Matrox have been selling the hardware only solution since the launch of CS3 (I am assuming to cover the gap between the CS3 launch and the release of the 3.0 drivers).

However, previously, it was virtually (if not totally) impossible to get hardware only during the PP2 days. Hopefully Matrox won’t make this the same for CS3 and continue to offer the standalone version.
