And one more thing. I read that CUDA cards improve working with AVC footage? Does it mean the preview works better or rendering TO AVC is faster.

If my footage is AVC but I render to MPEG-2, will CUDA card also improve the rendering time?

    Aleksey,

copy some text containing apostrophes from common Notepad and paste it to Sony Text plugin. Apostrophes will appear there but in the Vegas preview Window they won’t.

I got a small trick that can really help in some dramatic situations. When you have a veg project that crashes during opening do the following:

    1) change the name of your footage folder so Vegas won’t find the clips from the project
    2) open your troublesome veg project
    3) now Vegas can’t find missing clips. Ignore this and leave them offline
    4) as you can see your project has just opened (but with all media offline of course)
    5) open another Sony Vegas session
    6) copy all clips from the original project to the new, empty project and save
    7) close both Vegas sessions
    8) change the name of your footage folder back to its original name
    9) open the new project you created – now it opens with no problem

Hope this works for you because it saved my life many times.

    Mike,

some time ago you were asking me about my surname. Yes, it’s a very common surname in Poland so it is very likely you met some number of people with it. It’s like Lee or Smith in Canada. 🙂

One way to move clip attributes to another is to click COPY on the clip A and than click PASTE EVENT ATTRIBUTES on event B.

Thanks Mike, but reaching toolbar rather slows me down. Finally I found an option of customizing keyboard in Vegas.
