Plural Eyes
Posted by Grzegorz Kwiatkowski on March 10, 2011 at 11:01 pmI just bought Plural Eyes, it’s a really useful stuff but it always affects whole timeline. Is it possible to use Plural Eyes on a certain area of timeline only?

March 11, 2011 at 10:03 amI have a big project and the clips set chronogically on timeline. When I sync with Plural, it doess the job, but it mixes them chaotically. There is an option concerning chronology in Plural Eyes but it doesn’t help.

March 11, 2011 at 6:00 pmIt’s always best to keep things simple by copying just the section you want to sync using just the clips pertaining to that sync. I typically have multiple locations with multiple cameras and external audio. So I cut/paste what I need to a new project, run PluralEyes, then copy/paste back to the original project with the sync’ed clips. I have noticed that PluralEyes can be inconsistent, working great with some clips and totally not figuring out other clips. I always use sequential and “try realy hard”.

March 11, 2011 at 11:36 pmAnother thing that helps, at least for a new project. I always record an entire event with a digital recorder (Tascam DR-1 or Zoom H4n), start to finish. With that, I’m free to start and stop cameras a needed, without worrying too much about being able to sync up. I actually started this before using Plural Eyes, but PE does seem to function pretty well, this way, no scrambling of the clip order.
