What do your scopes look like? I’m going to guess that you’re clipping that part of the image.

September 11, 2013 at 6:22 pm in reply to: Candle test V10?!

Is there a DRP of the Candle Test somewhere?

Also, has anyone talked to BMD about adding the DRP to the installer package? It seems pretty straight forward to do, especially if the media in the project is one of the sample files.

It could also be a great way to confirm there is little/no variation in the project between those doing the reporting.

I would venture to guess that your Q4k/GTX680 test was impaired due to splitting the power to run both cards…

I was under the impression that the 680 needed 2 power sources and the Q4k is old at this point, so it is likely not as power efficient…

That is a guess, I’m still running the v8 config guides 5770/Q4k… but I’m putting in a 640/680 today or tomorrow… just in time for v10!

  • What about stripping everything but the LUT and saving the Node to the Still Store?

  • Are you not able to create a LUT from a Node/Correction? If the non existent LUT is still being applied correctly, you could try opening the project in “Read Only” mode, disabling all corrections but the LUT and generating a new one…

May not work, but if it does you have the LUT you no longer have…

August 16, 2013 at 3:47 pm in reply to: Resolve and Multicam from FCP7

When dealing with MultiCam, you need to “Collapse MultiCam Edits”, right-click sequence to find option, and/or, use the Media Manager to strip the MultiCam relationships.

In Media Manager, select “Use Existing” this will pretty much make an exact copy of your sequence. Uncheck everything related to handle and consolidation. At the bottom of the window there is a checkbox for “Include non-active MultiCam angles” uncheck. This will generate a new sequence rinsed of MultiCam in a new project. I tend to bring in the new Sequence into my working project, but that is strictly a matter of preference.

Pretty sure you only need to do one, but both steps take next to no time, so I always feel safer doing both.

Also, I’m not a 100% on this, but I believe this is a known issue for all NLE’s. I believe there is an exception in FCPX, but I’m not familiar with that particular workflow.

  • If you choose not to apply the sizing info, it remains in the XML when you send it back as far as I recall. Just like the filters… there but not there…

Also worth noting, that if it didn’t add the prefix, everytime you the media was rendered it overwrite the previous instance… unless you are rendering from the ‘master” timeline… in which case, I believe you ca just turn off, the “unique” file name setting… Or strip it away with a batch renamed… but that only works if your rendering a file/file not file/instance…
