It’s at the top of the OS X System Preferences “Blackmagic Design” window.

[Paul Provost] “Also try “none” on your video output device”

This brings up an interesting point, what Desktop Video Driver are you using? Some of the early v10’s had weird playback issues associated with them, at least on my machine.

[Andrew Migliori] “I also used atMonitor to check my hardware usage and while playing back in Davinci, it was using 15% GPU and 75%+ CPU. Something is indeed wrong!”

Do you have the “Use GPU for RED Debayer” checked in the Resolve settings (cmd-,) under Video I/O, not Project settings? That looks to me like your CPU is doing the debayer and not the GPU…

Isn’t there a setting on the delivery page to render w/o PTZR? SO no need to create a new timeline, just render… Or am I missing something in the question?

  • You can work in a lower r3d decode and timeline, sure… but you can only render out at the higher res if you machine can swing it… It sounds like your machine is not robust enough to do said render… at least from what I’m understanding.

February 4, 2015 at 9:53 pm in reply to: timecode autoconform from Media Pool

If your NLE is Avid, I’m pretty sure you can auto-sequence AMA media, which will do what your asking by camera, then AAF/EDL to resolve… I believe you can add an EDL to a new track in resolve, so you wouldn’t need to auto-sequence in Avid then build a master sequence. Just build the master as you conform to resolve.

I don’t think you can do this with other NLE’s…

There’s also a “reset GUI” option in “View”… not sure if that’s what it’s called in pc land… maybe it’s under “window”… there’s definitely an option to reset it though…

Checkout Remote vs local grades in the manual. I’m guessing this will get you most of the way to where you want to be.

Check g474 in the manual, only because your reading it may give you a better way of dealing with you concerns than how I think you mean/want to deal them…

But the long an short of it, Rt-Click Veiwer and pick you preference for Split-Screen mode.

  • If I find this is happening consistently around the same percentage of export, I will change the time display in FCP to frames and find the corresponding percentage to that count, and start looking around, usually within 5-10 sec’s in either direction, this will often get me to at least the 1st offender… this may take a couple rounds… but it does work.
