  • Often, not exclusively, the “General Error” can be tracked down to a piece of corrupt media (at Finder level), a corrupt clip (fcp “clip”, Finder media is fine), some type of Long-GOP/MPEG/MP3 asset, or Stills that are to large for FCP to deal with (this can vary, but usually anything over 3500×3500 per my experience)… and I’m sure there are other causes.

I’d start by trying to track down where in the timeline the problem asset is. This can take some trial and error…

  • Could you, as you are making the corrections, move the clips to a new layer, render to a new # folder, then export a “new AAF”? That way when you bring it into Avid, you’re just over cutting the one track into your existing timeline?

I’m Onlining at a shop that has a Staff colorist and this is very similar to whats being done, so far no issues.

You also get to keep the versions, if, god forbid, someone changes their mind…. Which NEVER happens…

In scaling(?) pretty sure that’s where it is, do you have Aliasing set to “Auto”? If so, try turning it “Off”.

Nothing jumped out at me, but are there features in addition to those added in the 11.1b release? Or is it primarily the official release of that beta?

August 5, 2014 at 4:39 pm in reply to: R11 and wacom tablet = strange results

    What tablet/drivers are you using?

I haven’t had this particular issue, but I’ve had other frustrating issues with various drivers. To the point where the only driver I’ll install on machines that I use is nearly 2yrs old. That said, i haven’t tried the most recent one from April, maybe I will this week… if you can still find it, the best one (for me) is 6.3.2-4.

This may have nothing to do with your issue though…
