Yeah, there’s audio dropouts at every chapter marker.
Here’s a workaround. Use DOS to merge them all into one file. Open a DOS prompt and copy them like…
copy /b file1.mpg + file2.mpg + file3.mpg + file4.mpg outputfile.mpg

Why not? I always turn on “Collapse Loop Region” – one of the first things I do after installing a new version. Only thing I can see it effects is using the “I” and “O” keys in the trimmer which I don’t use anyway.

What in the world does that mean? What did you “move into the sony vegas folder”? You shouldn’t be moving ANYTHING into the “sony vegas folder”.
Proper installation of NewBlue plugins purchased directly from NewBlue will NOT cause issues like this. I don’t know exactly what you did but it definitely wasn’t because of valid effects from NewBlue.

My guess would be that the dialog box has been moved off the screen. Many times it can be found hiding under the start bar. You might try looking there.

Vegas Pro 8.0a does not have that option either. He’s on Vegas Pro 8 with NO letter updates. So it would be recommended that he update to 8.0c. The option *may* have been added in 8.0c (I don’t know – don’t have it installed anywhere). It is NOT in Vegas Pro 8.1 either which was based on 8.0b. It’s definitely in 9.0, though.

Glad to hear Excalibur could help you out. Just to be fair to Vegas, though, if you hold down the CTRL key when you add the camera switch, it will create a dissolve instead of a cut.
