i have a multicam timeline that i just finished. it looks like its a cuts only option with vegas.

will ultimate S add transitions to my cuts ( overlap them by equal amounts and leave the cut location intact?..

did a little experimenting .. good thing i saved my work!… it wasn’t pretty.

basically i want to select either the entire multicam timeline ( one track in vegas pro8 or a starting point or a range to have cuts overlap for transitions.

    Thanks
    Wayne

What tool in Ultimate S Pro did you use? You should be using the Create New Transition tool on the Editing Tools tab.

Glad to hear Excalibur could help you out. Just to be fair to Vegas, though, if you hold down the CTRL key when you add the camera switch, it will create a dissolve instead of a cut.

Thanks Ed… I swear a lot of software programs rely on mental telepathy when you look at their native help files

John, If i’m not mistaken i tried that.. but it shrunk my timeline down.. since it is synced to music.. that wont fly.. so i told Excalibur to make each clip X seconds longer — and that gave me automatic crossfades

Understood. Vegas Pro Production Assistant has a more sophisticated crossfade tool. It gives you an option to actually extend the clips in place and also has additional options for what to do if there is no media left to extend. Ultimate S Pro does not have this.
