First of all, what version of the plugin are you using? You might want to download the most current version from newbluefx.com to make sure you are current. Then it should be a matter of properly adjusting the sensitivity.

Press “F1” – that will bring up the help file.

To “split” a video event for trimming, put the cursor where you want it cut and press “S”. Then delete the part you don’t want.

To “crop” an image, open Pan/Crop and adjust as desired.

Drop the Black and White effect on the color clip. You will need two keyframes: one at the beginning of the clip set to Black and White and the second one wherever you want it to be full color set to color. It will then gradually go from black and white at the first keyframe slowly until it reaches full color at the second keyframe.

Here’s what I’d do. Select all the subclips and add them to the timeline. They’ll all be separate clips at that time. Then use a script to add regions around each subclip. Finally use a script to render the regions. The scripts Grazie mentions can do that for you.

Make your track taller. If the track is too short for all three buttons to show up, the Pan/Crop button is the first to disappear.
