B+W to colour in one scene?
Posted by Laura Sherran on January 14, 2010 at 3:29 pmDoes anyone know how to make a scene start off in black and white, then slowly turn into full colour? I have no idea!! 🙂

January 14, 2010 at 3:47 pmDrop the Black and White effect on the color clip. You will need two keyframes: one at the beginning of the clip set to Black and White and the second one wherever you want it to be full color set to color. It will then gradually go from black and white at the first keyframe slowly until it reaches full color at the second keyframe.

January 29, 2010 at 9:07 pmI believe there are at least two ways to do this:
1) Copy the scene and paste it directly above the original. Now, put your black/white effect on the pasted scene (the higher track). Once that is done, you should be able to fade the end of the black/white scene which will essetially allow the color scene to gradually show thru.
2) I know some sequencers have automation. I’ve never looked for it in Vegas, but if it supports automation, then you should be able to control all aspects of an effect in relation to the timeline. Search for “automation”.
