I’ll bet the dialog box (the flash you see) is moving “off the screen” – possibly hidden under the START bar. Move the start bar or change your screen resolution, move the dialog back to the main area of the screen, and then set it back.

1. Use Pan/Crop and/or Track Motion. An interesting new option is the Image Mapper plugin in Video Essentials III from NewBluefx.

2. Hold down the CTRL key and resize the event smaller. This will make it play faster.

When installing NewBlue plugins, you MUST pick the proper version of Vegas. In most cases, you should pick “Sony Vegas” during installation. You would only pick “Sony Vegas 64-bit” if you’re running Vegas Pro 8.1 or the 64-bit version of Vegas Pro 9.

Sounds like you put the entire movie as the menu background. Therefore your menu is exceeding 1 Gig.

Your simplest solution would be to do: File – New – Single Movie – and then pick the video file you added to the menu background. As soon as you’re to that point, just click on Make DVD, follow the prompts, and you’re done.

Add a velocity envelope at 3x and you can get up to 12x. Faster than that, render it or nest it and do it again which would get you up to 144x. Faster than that, repeat the above.

Turn off the “Split Screen” button above the preview screen.

You should always “zoom in” with Pan/Crop instead of Track Motion. Plus you can now use Pan/Crop to zoom in and Track Motion for the rest.

Did you finalize the DVD in the Camera before putting it in the computer?

Sounds like you’ve just upgrade to 8.0c which previews in the TRIMMER. To get your original functionality back, open the trimmer, and click the 4th button from the right side above the trimmer window (I think it’s the 4th one…) In Vegas Pro 9, the help popup reads “Show Video Monitor”.

Alex, if you’re talking about moving the mouse to the top of the even and dragging downward, that’s NOT an envelope. That’s simply a means of lowering the volume for the entire event. But it’s not an envelope. Use the Volume Envelope (in the versions that have it) and you’ll understand.

But… the bottom line is that ALL versions of Vegas *CAN* increase the volume. Some versions just have more options than others.
