Have you tried using a Volume Envelope? It can both raise AND lower volumes and will work dynamically instead of affecting the entire envent.

Or using the volume slider on the track header? This can also raise and lower volume but will do so over the entire track.

There’s also the “normalize” option but that simply takes the loudest point in a clip and adjusts the volume based on that point. It will typically raise the volume, though.

There’s no reason to go to an external program in order to raise the volume.

The little “lock” button underneath the pan/crop timeline. Personally, I leave it “off” until I need it for a specific reason so I don’t accidentally create a new keyframe instead of adjusting the first keyframe.

Why not just create a Video_TS and Audio_TS folder and move all of the files inside the Video_TS folder?

Sounds like Vegas isn’t properly able to read the entire file. Instead of dragging vob files to the timeline, why not put the DVD in and choose the option File – Import – DVD Camcorder Disc which will properly convert the DVD back to MPEG2 files for Vegas to use.

You could route all four audio tracks to a BUS track and then adjust the volume levels on that one bus.

The method I gave moves the split point – i.e. the left and right clips are both adjusted so that the split point is moved.

Or… put the mouse over the split, hold down CTRL-SHIFT-ALT, and click and drag to adjust the split location

For most of the things you would need to go to Soundtrack Pro for, you can do directly on the timeline in Vegas. However, if you need it, the alternative in Vegas would be SoundForge – a separate product by Sony.

Some things you may be able to duplicate directly in Vegas. However, you’ll probably need to look at a third party program depending on your needs.

You have a couple of options. First of all, you can simply open Vegas multiple times and tell each separate instance to render a different piece.

A second option would be to use a batch rendering script. The script can then start the second render once the first render has finished.

Because you can’t. If a segment of a clip is cut out, there MUST be a split where that cut-out segment used to be.

If you really want a single clip with that segment cut out, you’d need to either render to a new file or use a nested VEG file.
