If you delete a section from the timeline, you can then use ripple editing to close up that space. However, I find it much easier to select all events to the right of the cursor (for example) and then just move them left. To do that I use the Select Events tool in Excalibur. I know Ultimate S also has a similar function.

Richiedude, I have also seen that happen. I use Batch Capture and manually enter my start/stop points. If for some reason I choose to cancel the capture and also choose to delete the captured file, the original entry will, indeed, show as needing to be captured but will now show the length of the clip that actually captured. It was very annoying the couple of times it has happened to me.

Look at “Time Bandit” in both the Veggie Toolkit and Excalibur 4. Excalibur 4.5 also has the Strobe Light tool which could work in a similar fashion.

How about if you simply trim off the white area in your photo editor? (Especially since it’s so few images)
To me, it sounds like you scanned just slightly outside the image picture on the scanner.

It should also work for Vegas 6 but will have to be manually placed in the correct place.

Yes, it is dockable. But it is also possible to locate it “off screen”.
Here’s something you can try: Change your video settings to a HIGHER resolution. See if you can now see where the window is opening to, and then move it back to the normal area of the screen. Then you can reset the video settings back to normal.
Worst case, follow the other advise: Hold down CTRL-SHIFT and start Vegas which resets everything back to “default”
