April 7, 2009 at 2:35 pm in reply to: OT. How do I work out video dimentions for web streaming? It’s an odd size because you’re rendering to square pixels but you’re starting with non-square pixels.

April 6, 2009 at 4:15 pm in reply to: Want to show tons of pictures in a short amount of time! With VMSP, you cannot use a script.
your best bet is to change the length of pix in your Options/Editing tab, and then drag your pix in at the described length, ie’ 7-10 frames.Douglas Spotted Eagle

knowing more about the type and source of the files you’re trying to add would be most helpful

March 27, 2009 at 8:57 am in reply to: Stumped on muting audio of two different clips on same timelineyou can mute an individual clip by click/dragging at the top of the clip/event and pulling the gain all the way down.
you can mute on a track using automation, simply hitting the mute button on the track (Z) while playing back with automation enabled.
You can mute using a volume envelope and manually inputting a mute/envelope.

Curves or levels should help.
Expect noise/grain. You *might* try Mike Crash’ Denoise filter.Douglas Spotted Eagle

First, congrats on the gig. I think that means you owe everyone beer. 😉
Second, you were likely hired due to your reel? Do things much as you’ve done.
1) Do you normally do anything different regarding Make-up when something will be broadcast on TV? We want a warm and natural look for our senior talent.
See above. You might want to whitebalance for a warmer shot (ie; balance to green, or use in-camera profile).
2) Do I need to do anything differently at this shoot as compared with a corporate training video shoot?
without more detail, the answer is “probably not.”3) What will I need to do while I’m editing and rendering to make sure it is Broadcast acceptable?
Be sure to observe broadcast levels and colors for both audio and video.
4) What providers can I upload a Nat’l spot to so they can feed it to any station?
Your client should be managing distribution, but you can put an MP4 on Vimeo, for example, and it can be broadcast in HD from there. We’ve had a couple clips go out this way, although it’s rare.
Doesn’t the client have a distribution sheet/requirement sheet for format of delivery?Douglas Spotted Eagle
