  • Delete the .sfk files, see if it builds again (it should) but then it’s associated with their location, so it should keep those associations for future openings.

If you can only get vertical pans, is your horizontal locked off?
You’ve got to keep the target area inside the limits of the image. Vegas isn’t changing the image, merely cropping what’s on the sides or top of the image. “Coloring outside the lines” means you’ll have pillar boxes or letter boxes.

mxf is my choice for this. The free Sony encoder makes it so that mxf in all flavors reads in all platforms at all bitrates. And it’s usually a very fast conversion.

make the movie to a location you know as an MP4. Then you’ll be able to locate if the Vegas upload fails again

February 23, 2010 at 7:11 am in reply to: Color Matching in Vegas pro 9?

you can get marginally close by copying a frame of one color group to the clipboard, then set the display window to show the clipboard while you scroll to the next color set. Click on the various areas in the match clip. I’d recommend finding a clip that best represents a median between all clips to be matched.

Hit the B key to add a master bus. Then use this to create an envelope to fade everything.

point 1-QUIT USING THAT CRAP software to ingest. 🙂
    Seriously.
Honest. It’s garbage, and you don’t need it anyway.
Vegas can edit straight from the stream card.
You can batch rename in Windows. Select the files, right click to choose the file/rename in the Explorer. It’ll append the files with a 1, 2, 3, etc when you give the first file a new name.

February 23, 2010 at 7:07 am in reply to: Avi is black when accelerated

are they rendering black, or merely displaying black during render?

As JR said, it’s very possible that you’ve got a codec issue where the frames can’t be decoded fast enough to display, but they should render OK.

you might try setting your Dynamic RAM to zero and see if that makes any difference. Play with preview settings as well.

February 19, 2010 at 6:20 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas preview windows doesn’t work

If you are trucly vexed about getting the image back, shut down Vegas, hold CTRL+SHIFT and restart Vegas. This will reset all Vegas parameters back to factory settings. you’ll lose any preference settings.
But…you should be able to see the halfmoon/circle is highlighted/engaged or not.
There are two issues at play here, one is preview window/codec, the other *might* be preview window and clipboard/pre-edit.
