MSI X58 Pro SLi
OCZ Gold XTC 3GB in triple channel
2x ZOTAC 8800GT in SLI formationHas anyone got a sollution to this problem?

October 17, 2009 at 6:03 pmWhat format/codec are the source video files? Do you have that codec installed? (can’t tell if this is a new PC or same as your Vegas pro 8.0 PC) Vegas Pro 9.0 doesn’t come with the CineForm codec anymore. Are they CineForm files?

October 17, 2009 at 6:09 pmI’ve been using Vegas 8 for months on this system, so that can’t be the problem. The files i tried to preview are .AVI files, containing footage from my MiniDV camera and it was put on the PC using the Sony Video Capture software. Besides that it doesn’t matter what kind of media i try to preview, even the gradients generated by Vegas itself won’t preview in the preview windows.

October 17, 2009 at 7:52 pmMy guess is that you accidentally enabled (clicked on) the Split Screen View icon.
It’s the dual-shaded circle at the top left of the Preview window. -

Yea, specifically if you select Clipboard and Select All you would see black if there was no video on the clipboard regardless of what was on the timeline.

February 19, 2010 at 6:20 pmIf you are trucly vexed about getting the image back, shut down Vegas, hold CTRL+SHIFT and restart Vegas. This will reset all Vegas parameters back to factory settings. you’ll lose any preference settings.
But…you should be able to see the halfmoon/circle is highlighted/engaged or not.
There are two issues at play here, one is preview window/codec, the other *might* be preview window and clipboard/pre-edit.Douglas Spotted Eagle

March 17, 2010 at 8:22 pmI found this thread looking for a solution to this problem. Thankfully, I think I found the answer on my own…
Go to the trimmer window (Alt+2 to open it if it isn’t already) and turn off the button for “Show Video Monitor”. It is a blue box flanked by two vertical black lines, should be the third from the right on the Trimmer toolbar. Once I did this, my video previews from the Project Media and Explorer windows worked just fine.
Hope that helps…
