Simply put, there is no way whatsoever, that you can be speedy in the Apple environment like you need to be for tandem video output.
Pretty absolute, but it simply cannot be done.Load goes up with three tandems, if you want to deliver those three videos in less than 10 minutes, you need three Apple system. Ugh.
Or, one Quadcore running Win7 with one copy of Vegas.
At Elsinore, we’ve got a system that has four burners in it, for burning three SD DVDs and one Blu-ray at one shot. Unfortunately, we can’t edit the videos fast enough to keep up with the 48X burns, so really, only two burners are necessary.What’s your home DZ? Happy to help get you going. You’ll need:

I have a tremendous amount of experience with Vegas in a newsroom ranging from ABC Nightline to Comcast Sports Network to several chains, as well as mobile trucks uploading from Vegas timeline.
What specifically do you want to know?You can cut in Vegas faster than in any other app if you know much about the app, and you don’t have to unlearn most of your AVID shortcut tools such as rolling edit, slips, inserts, etc.

Editing is cutting up bits and pieces of video so that the combination tells a story or shares a message (generally speaking).
Compositing is composing a frame or series of frames to create an image that doesn’t already exist. For example, chromakeying is compositing. Making a title is compositing. Picture in picture is compositing.
Then again, so is layering dozens of still images, animating them, and combining them to generate an image that isn’t “real.”Douglas Spotted Eagle

Because Vegas is an editing tool with some compositing features, and AE is a compositing tool with very few editing features…hard to compare them; they’re apples n’ oranges. Both fruits, but not at all the same.
AE doesn’t buffer up content the way Vegas does, but it does have some hardware access that Vegas doesn’t have.
One thing I’ll say…after having seen a demo of Mercury with AE…Mercury is really da’ bomb! Check it out. I wish Vegas had something like this.

I would go with Prores, simply for speed.
Personally, I prefer using .mxf files, but they are not as fast to render as Prorez is.Douglas Spotted Eagle

Use “Interpolate” for high-motion content.

You don’t need bins; they’re merely pointers to the original media. They don’t actually contain anything except addressing information.
What is the source video? Did drive letters change?

What is your source video?
Have you adjusted the Dynamic RAM up or down? turned on more than 2 threads in Preferences? Locked it to one thread?More information about how you’re currently running, information about errors might help.
Using AVCHD as a source has occasionally choked my 8 core system, turning on more threads has helped. Keeping the Project Media cleaned from events not found in the project has really helped too.
Using 32 or 64 bit system?

The problem stems from the quicktime decoder which isn’t native to Vegas. You’d have been better off using Prorez, which can be decoded properly without third party software (Quicktime).

This is seemingly an issue with large jpeg files and RAM. I’ve had to play with the dynamic RAM settings on a per-project basis.
