Thanks @Darby Edelen. I must have hit a quick key to turn off the axis. Your suggestion solved it:

    Click on the Composition Window.
    View–>View Options–>Checkbox Layer Controls

April 18, 2018 at 5:54 pm in reply to: AVOID 12.1 update!

    MASSIVE PROBLEMS on Premiere 12.1:

-.mov with alpha channels flicker, glitch
-Some .mp4 videos appear upside down
-Exporting FCP XML, fail upon importing to 12.0

Downgrading to 12.0 has problems also:
-Exporting .H264 renders “Error compiling movie -> Import Error -> importer returned bad result
-importing XMLs from 12.1 creates an error
-Starting a new project and dragging XML has some results, but creates problems upon exporting
    -AME 12.0 fails
-Missing audio filter/video filter depending on whether AU or AE are upgraded/downgraded.

At least Adobe is admitting these problems exist, (search tag ‘12.1’)

  • I spoke too soon. I still have the issue.

Upgrading to High Sierra or AE 2018 has not solved the issue.

This fix works for any Adobe Program Audition/Premiere/After Effects/Photoshop/Illustrator.

It’s an error in the user’s Preferences folder

    For OSX,

Close Audition (or other Adobe App)

Click in Finder window, click ‘Go’, + Alt/option–> Library–>Preferences–>Adobe–>Audition and rename the folder “Old11.0” or whatever your folder is called.

    Reopen Audition/Premiere/After Effects/Photoshop

  • Working on with the graph mode for multiple keyframes, especially for coordinates (x,y) values, is really helpful. Thanks!

  • Just drag a .mov or .png sequence into the material editor then drag that onto your object/surface

  • This worked for me also (2017 MacBook Pro, High Sierra + Adobe CC 2018 +C4D R19).

While After Effects wanted to send me to change Communication–>Live Link in C4D, that didn’t fix the problem.

I got the error until I changed the Options in the Cineware Effect in AE. I changed the port number to 5020.

A previous, similar error pertained to the permissions that plague OSX High Sierra: for that, I found Apple’s own explanation was best.

The permissions just on the Maxon folder in the Applications folder can be changed (Get Info, unlock, change permissions for user to Read & Write, click gear to Apply to enclosed items…) worked also.

June 5, 2017 at 10:55 pm in reply to: Video wont drag from project to timeline in PP CC

(If you V1/target track isn’t an issue, in/out points aren’t an issue; media format isn’t an issue:)

Are you working with multiple monitors?

I experience this problem when I work with external/multiple monitors.
I unplug the monitor from the port and plug it back in.

Additionally, I save my workspaces according to whether I’m working with multiple monitors at work or at home. I’ve found deleting the workspace and using a template workspace (Editing/Essentials/ etc.) does the trick.

    Summing up:
    1) Make sure your time line has at least ONE video or audio track active (meaning the V1, V2, etc. to the right of the lock symbol is active.
    2) Make sure you’ve cleared your timeline in/out points (cmd +x on Mac)
    3) Your media is compatible
    4) Your workspace isn’t corrupt. Delete workspace, use a generic workspace.
    5) Your external monitors are refreshed. Unplug, plug back in

I solve another problem of not being able to move/shift my clips on the timeline with my pointer in the same way. Use a generic workspace.

October 27, 2016 at 2:44 pm in reply to: Missing audio waveforms in nested sequences, CC

As of PP 8.2 (2014) I solved this issue by muting all the audio tracks in the nest that I wasn’t using. I assume that PP has difficulty passing the waveform of multiple tracks to the sequence in which it’s nested.

So turn off all the audio in the nested track that you don’t want to see in the editing sequence.
