Thats because the clip(s) are grouped so you can do 1 of 3 things depending on what you want to do.
To get rid of the audio completely without taking away the video you can right click on the track header and delete the audio track completely OR just highlight the audio clip(s) and hit DELETE pretty much does the same thing.
To “roll back” the audio simply highlite either the video or audio and hit the “U” to Ungroup the the video and audio then you can have at it with either OR hit the button on the tool bar to Ignore Event Grouping-does the same.
I ususally just Ungroup.

Or you can use the J-K-L keys K will stop it on th emark as well.

select everything you want to lock together (control A if you want all the footage and audio) and the hit the G button. This will Group all the selction for you.

Vegas has a couple of diffrent blurs available right in the video FX-why not those?
If those aren’t what you’re looking for then NewBlueFX has a nice set of effects that are very reasonable.Don

As for using the numbers that DVDA gives you DO NOT! It lies!
That’s harsh but it does give a gross over-exageration of the actual size of the project. Generally I take the file size from the file say 2.3gigs add in the AC3 audio say 138.5 mb and add ‘some’ in for menus. Real sophistcated I know but it works for me. Oh yeah if I have a music track under the menus I take the actual file size from that as well. A little addition and I come up with a fairly accurate number for the job.
I’ve had DVDA tell me the project was up to 50% larger than what it really is.

Without knowing the settings you are using to render it would be impossible to even try to guess. Please give us some additional information so we can try to help you.
Are you rendering straight from the project timeline to MPEG-if so, what template are you using, what settings etc.

you can use a velocity envelope to control the speed of the clip or you can use the playback properties.
They all do the same job.
Vegas generally has at least 3 ways to do any 1 thing.Don

Clean it off and re-render the project-sounds like there might be something else running on your machine-anti virus program or something that’s throwing off the machine.

it really isn’t except for the fact that it gives me another few seconds to look at it and make sure it’s what I want to do.
