There are at least 2 ways to do everything in Vegas

right click on the clip (event) insert envelope>adjust as wanted
Remember to resize the clip depending on the method used

To slow the clip down you can also CONTROL and pull the length of the clip to what you want

You could use Excalibur to do all of this for you

goto http://www.debugmode.com and Satish still has the PluginPAC Shatter 3D and all of the others he had written – the Shatter 3d will probably do what you need but I THINK it’s all a part of the WAX plugin now.
Check it out at his website.

add the Gamma adjust to the clip only instead of the track header-track header adds to ALL of the clips on the timeline

If you have 6.0 then goto SONY site and upgrade to 6.0D (latest release) and you should be OK. Projects from 4 or 5 should be fine in 6 just not the other way around.

Well please do not misundertand this but to say “professional look” is like saying “which camera is best””. Best for what? Professional look can be many different things to different people. Proper lighting, proper exposure, proper framing are what make footage look professional not special effects.
Now having said that I will assume you want something that perhaps POPS a bit more than what you are seeing now so you might try punching up the color a little-you can use HSL or Color Correction or secondary color correction-bring up the levels a touch to enhance the exposure if you want to and after that its all very subjective as to the kind of look you’re going for.

    Hmmmm,
Soap operas-large budgets, lots of proper lighting with a lighting designer and set designer..not quite sure what you mean by “movie theater or DVD look”

Perhaps you could be a bit more specific about the look you are trying to achieve so we can try to help you out.

March 12, 2006 at 12:06 am in reply to: Wide Angle Lens Advice

I have 2 WAs for my 150s-a Century optics and a KenkoPro both a .65-They are both quite sharp and work very well although they both do lose a bit of sharpness if fully zoomed thru-of course WA lens attachments aren’t really made for that so… they both have very good to excellent sharpness on the edges of course they both also cost about 1 to 1-1/2 f/stops – more glass less light. Now having said that, I actually use the KenkoPro more than the CO-in my warped sense of values I figure if the KenkoPro takes a dump it cost less than the CO lens so therefore I haven’t last as much. Crazy right?!?!
I have grabbed a bag (all my kits are identical and contain the same gear so no matter which bag I grab I’m good to go) and whether its the CO or Kenko I really wasn’t able to tell the difference when shooting.
I know you weren’t asking about the CO lens but it’s my only test against the KenkoPro and I give the KenkoPro a thumbsup!

January 27, 2006 at 6:54 pm in reply to: Question about DVD architect 3.0

Place them on the timeline in the order you want them to play-then open up the first one goto END ACTION and hae the END ACTION point to the next one-do the same with the second one -have the end action point to the 3rd one and you’ll be set.
Remeber though to go into the clip and set the end action otherwise it doesn’t work.

January 6, 2006 at 1:23 pm in reply to: Rendering

If you’re looking at it in either in the PREVEIW SCREEN of Vegas or DVDa 2 or 3 as a rendered AVI or MPEG it will look, well…not so good. BUT once burned to DVD it looks fine. I have this all the time on every project. I take my VEG files, render to AVI then stitch them to gether and render to MPEG-looking at the AVIs in MEDIA PLAYER makes me want to throw up-in the preview screen-well just sick to my stomach-rendered MPEG in DVDa preview-YUCK but the finished burn product has always looked just fine.
Burn 1 just as a test and see for yourself if it’s really BAD or is it really B A D !
