VST is just a wrapper for an audio effect, like direct-x effects. I’ve seen VST wrapper software that makes non VST plugins VST. VST I believe was started with Steinbergs Cubase, Nuendo, etc,,,. Most Windows based NLEs will work with VST and direct x plugins.

I hate to say this but it sounds like you may have bricked the card. When updating the firmware on most any device, stopping or turning off while the update is in progress usually ruins the device.

Stereo is two wave files in one track. 5.1, when Vegas project settings are set to 5.1, and you drop a 5.1 video file on the time line, you get the one video track and three stereo audio tracks, one for front left and right, one for rear left and right and one for center and sub. An audio buss is a track usually used as an effect buss, where you can add a reverb for instance and send any desired amount from any audio tracks to it and it’s output normally goes to the master out. This method is used to get an effect on many tracks with only one effect used. You can use a buss for like a master level for drums for an example. You you could set the output of all the drum tracks to a buss, set all vocal outputs to another, and be able to turn all the drumes up or down with one fadre, same with the vocals. These are audio busses. Audio bass it the low frequency of an audio signal. Hope this helps. Danny Hays

You may have audio device driver issues. I would try downloading the newest drivers for your sound card or device. Also make sure you select the right input before recording. The track should turn pink as the curser moves when your record audio. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Hold the alt key while draging the edge to slow down or speed up.
YOu can also right click on the event and add a velocity enveope that alows you to do the same, but with the ability to add points and specify parts to adjust the speed. Hope this helps, Danny Hays -
Use the event pan and crop to crop each event, then use track motion to position them side by side, a gap will be the black line. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

If you have Quicktime installed you have the ability to render as Quicktime .mov in HD, at least in Vegas Pro 9e.

No. Blackmagic Motion JPEG AVI, on one 7200 rpm drive, 8 and 10bit uncompressed AVI with raid array. I can capture as .MXF with Vegas.

Yes, the Color Curves plugin is very powerful, as you can do alot with it. Is there a video tutorial on it anywhere John?
