    Hi there,

    I’m pretty new to color correction.
    I was wondering – is there something similar to After Effects’ “Levels” for Sony Vegas 10 ?

    Thanks
    Stan

    I don’t have After Effects here on my laptop but Vegas Pro does have a Levels plug-in that adjusts the in and out points for levels. Did you try that and it wasn’t the same? There is also the Color Curves plug-in which gives you greater control over the gamma curve by color channel (or all at once).

    Yes, the Color Curves plugin is very powerful, as you can do alot with it. Is there a video tutorial on it anywhere John?

    [Danny Hays] ” Is there a video tutorial on it anywhere John?”

    We have an entire training DVD dedicated to Color Correction:

    Absolute Training for Vegas+DVD, Vol. 4: Color Correction, Enhancement and Image Restoration

    This will really teach you a lot about the color correcting tools in Vegas Pro.

    @John

    No, Vegas’ Levels and After Effects Levels are not the same.

    In After Effects Levels analyses the footage and presents it in a form of graph where you can manually adjust sliders to make a underexposed or overexposed footage better

    Thanks for the DVD link I’ll check it out

    @Danny
    I know about curves and I know how to use them – the biggest problem is that I do not know how a proper footage should look like in terms of color, gamma, etc
    Meaning I do not have anything set in my mind to try and match the footage in Vegas to it.
