Yes. There is an event effect icon on the right side of each event where you can add an effect to just that event and not the whole track. You can also right click anywhere in an event and click effects to get to the same effects window. Danny Hays

Windows media video looks good and will play on most computers, Even macs with media player for Mac istalled. Danny

You can also just drag either end of the wav to shorten or lenthen it if there are handles. Danny Hays

I use Windows media video alot. I come VGA from my laptop to my HDTV or projector in your case. Media player can run full screen with no windows. I use this method with HD and it looks great. After Effects will render to this format with audio if you select it. There’s even a version for Mac if needed. Danny

Just click on the second clip in the time line and drag it to the right to make room for the in-between clip. drag in the in-between clip and butt it up next to the 1st then butt the 3rd next to the middle. Snapping is turned on by default I think. You can just drag any video or audio event anywhere you want in the time line, even from track to track. How easy is that? Try doing that in Avid or FCP. Yes, you can use keyframes on your effects to apply them to a specific area or you can just split the wav before and after where you want to apply an effect and it will only effect the area between the splices. Thats the way I’d do it.

It sounds like your working with a Mac. This may sound funny to some of you but if you have a PC with the old Cool Edit 1.0 there is a noise reduction that works better than any other I’ve tried. You need to have an area of the wave where is just the noise, hum for it to work. but you will be pleasently suprised by it. Danny Hays

There’s another way that may work for you. There are many screen capture wares out there, maybe even free, that allows you to capture your desktop live as an avi. You could open paint and paint your text while recording your desktop, then crop out the paint program leaving the paint program canvas when you pull it into vegas. The quality of those screen avi’s arent that good but may be worth a try.

If video frames being on makes you drop frames in the preview, the crossfades will most likley do the same unless it’s rendered. Are you doing DV and viewing external through firewire back to the camera for your live feed? Danny Hays

Wow, I don’t see a way vith Vegas and I hope i’m wrong. There is a way with After Effects to record you writing with the mouse if you have access to it. Danny Hays
