How do I cut a wave file etc on the timeline
Hey Guys,
I hope this is the right area!?
I added a wave file to my timeline; I have been watching the video tutorials via videocopilot.net and I saw andrew cut the wav file but did say how he did it. He placed the red line (pardon my tact in describing the features) where he wanted to cut the wav file and then click something and the end disappeared from where the line was.
In adobe premiere there is the razor blade you can highlight and cut, but I dont see anything like this in after effects.
What do I do and is there a shortcut key also?
Appreciate the help folks – day 2 mastering effects (except cutting lol)

You can trim footage in AE by moving that little red line (the Time Indicator) to where you want to trim, then:
“Alt [” cuts off everything to the left.
and
“Alt ]” cuts off everything to the right.
Or if you just really want to cut the layer in half use, Edit>Split Layer.

You can also just drag either end of the wav to shorten or lenthen it if there are handles. Danny Hays
