hum… have you PAID for a serial number?? They cost about $1700 for the whole pack,, for FCP/AE anyways.

LOL I really doubt any one will be giving you theirs.

Download the free trial, then if you like it, i’m sure Genarts would love to trade you a serial number for your credit card number!

[Bob Cole] “or take the minimum 2gb from Apple and add either 2gb or 4gb from Crucial.”

you will need to get 4, as apple will ship it with 2 1gig sticks, not 1 2gig stick.

will still save you money though!

Does this happen when rendering a particular plug-in, or brand of plug-in?? I’ve been having a crash problem with a certain effect if stacked on a clip longer than 30-60 seconds. The work around I’ve found for this is to render a small chunk, hit escape, save, render, repeat…. Pain in the ass, I know, but works and the effect is very cool.

Drag and drop the new footage over top of the old. It will retain all the formating/key frames so on… of the clip it’s replacing.

Make sure you see a box appear around the lower (old) clip. If you see a line below or above the clip you want to replace, you will only add the new clip to the group, not replace the old clip.

Have a look at your keyboard language set-up. I’ve heard of some people having one or two issues in the pro aps when using different keyboard language assignments.

May not be your trouble at all, but something worth checking.

June 30, 2008 at 7:43 pm in reply to: Audio drift problem

Hum.. I’m still convinced it is the 44.1K vs 48K causing your problem. The 44.1K frequency is perhaps being sped up ever so slightly to increase its frequency to 48K causing it to shorten ever so slightly over time.

Try changing your timeline in FCP to 44.1K. Click somewhere in your timeline (anywhere, so the timeline box is active.) From the sequence drop down choose ‘Settings’, and choose 44.1K. Now delete the audio track from the sequence, then replace it, so it’s freshly inserted into the timeline.
