Yes this is normal and has always been like this. The GUI display is used primarily as a reference for creating/positioning shapes, qualifying and tracking. The SDI output should always be used for actual video playback reference.

What you’re hoping for have been asked before so hopefully it is in the wishlist of Resolve’s future features. The challenge is where this feature live among the magnitude features in the wishlist.

Kim…where are you located since you mentioned that a Tangent Wave panel over where your side costs US$4K ? That’s ridiculously more expensive than anywhere else.
For US$4K you could actually get the Tangent Wave panel, Resolve Mac software and NVIDIA FX4800 GPU card !

Hi Dan,
We’ve tested this many times already in various combo – Resolve on MacBook Pro controlling a Resolve on MacPro and vice versa and a Resolve Mac Pro controlling and Resolve Linux and vice versa.
Basically the two Resolve machines need to be able to “see” each other on the network and have the same project/media locally on the two Resolve machines. The easiest I’ve found is to prepare the project on one machine and then export it out and then import into the other machine. For the media, you’ll just need to change the parent directory since it may be in a different directory structure.
I’ve yet to try remote grading literally into different locations as so far it has been within close proximity just to demonstrate the feature. Just need to figure out how to get both machines to “see” other across the internet 🙂

I completely agree with you…all these snipings are so unproductive. If you don’t like it, leave it alone coz many other people love it.
