  • Boole is very stable but but it does have limits and it’s not necessarily the best way to do things. That depends on what you are trying to do, sometimes it’s an excellent solution, sometimes not.
The boole building in the city; it looks like the problem is the angled insets you have booled out, they are overlapping, sticking through each other, in the corners. Your boole setup will depend on whether you want those corners to be closed or if you want those corners to be ‘see through’, to be holes in the building. What are you trying to achieve?

just one forum note, you should copy/paste the links the load mechanism gives you back into your post, otherwise people have to click on your name to find the files you uploaded…

The bend needs to be bigger than the object to be bent (or ideally just bigger) – that’s what the Fit To Parent button in the Bend/Object tab is for. Also the Bend needs to be rotated (probably -90° in B) but do that before you change the size to match the object.

I do use Corona, yes, but I’m seeing standard render (and standard C4D materials) – I don’t see what’s with the file on a quick examination, the light is a spot light not pointed at EVE so no shadow there, the Sun object is an infinte light and from the Help
“Since a Infinite light is infinite, the light has no actual origin. Thus the exact position of a Infinite light, near or far, has no effect on your scene’s objects. Only the actual direction in which the light is facing is important with this light source.”
and the direction of a light is always along the Z axis of the light (except Omni’s) and the Sun objects Z axis is pointed up into the sky so no shadows….
ok a bit deeper into the file, the only possible shadow is from the Physical Sky and it does show in the Enhanced OpenGL but the city in the sky has a Floor object, that’s the problem. It may look like a square in your scene but that’s just for convenience really it extends infinitely in all directions and it’s blocking your shadows. Turn it off.

that’s what xrefs do – you can either create something in your project and make it an xref (an external file) or use something that was created in it’s own project and add it later. Lots of info in the help.

  • if the sharp part of the stone did not have a dynamic tag at all (or a Dynamic tag set to Ghost) it would pass right through the tire.

  • you want it to act dynamic itself but not interact with one other dynamic object?

  • Hmm I assume you have AO turned off for the glass…. just thinking out loud… since all the pills are in the glass container you could give that an Object buffer and use that to isolate the AO of the pills (maybe – assuming there not too much behind the glass

  • probably not but why?

Flat is probably better than Frontal, frontal projects from the camera and will change depending on camera angle. To get it to only go on the front of the face, not on the back the head, you will have to use a polygon selection to limit the texture to only the polys you want it on.
I assume you are using PLA animation on the spline – seems to work here with those settings, excepting the animation is only visible on render not while scrubbing or playing the timeline.

    very simple trial file… 11435_splinetextureanimtrial.c4d.zip

the Visualize.lib4d file should be in the Cinema 4D R18/Library/Browser folder… if it’s there and you still don’t have access to the visualize library you probably have to ask Support.
