Use log and transfer. You can bring in XDCAM natively through that tool. I don’t quite recall if you can transcode upon transfer. I haven’t used XDCAM in FCP in a little while. You may also need to download the XDCAM log and transfer from the Sony site. The log and transfer plugin.
Very high quality codec, assuming they can convert to whatever specs they need from this file. You may want to spend a bit of time researching this stuff online.
I was unaware that Avid could link DNxHD 36 sequence back to AMA’d Prores files! How does Avid know to do that? When you transcode for offline your master clips point to MXF files. I’m just not grasping how you can tell your offline-edit media to relink from mxf to AMA Prores files for online. Please let me know if you can explain it, i’m very curious.
