Yep! The 1.2 isn’t for the XAVC media much to my dismay. I haven’t ever used Resolve Lite before, but I’m looking for an easy export setting just to get dailies to my avid. I don’t even need them graded or a LUT applied, just need to get them exported for the edit.

Did anyone ever figure this out? I’m having the exact same issue. My final composite will be in AE, but I’m doing some temp work quickly and still get the visible edges.

Are your DNx 350 X files your finishing resolution? Or are you going back to the original Alexa Prores? If it’s the DNx 350 files then you simply just hide your offline media (DNx 36) and relink back to the DNx 350. No match framing involved. You should have these two resolutions in two different locations Avid Mediafiles folders, and not mounted at the same time.

Why not just change the format tab to 23.967 NTSC, and then export a custom 16:9 frame? 864×486, 640×360, etc.

Turns out just adding a tape name fixed it.

Yes it does. Though if you don’t cut with the “.new files” generated by transcoding in v5.5 it should just relink upon re-mounting the ama volumes (and by taking your low res media offline). Don’t decompose.

It really depends what market you’re trying to appeal to. Short films and Features requires a showreel much different than say, music videos or commercials. Since I lean towards scripted, my reels are usually longer, often a whole short or full scenes. But commercial or music video I would go with more rhythmic, stylistic cutting.

This Redcine X workflow works. I’ve done it before on MC 5.5 with EPIC.

You should definitely ingested at a higher rate than dnx 36 or prores proxy precisely the reasoning that youre going to lose quality going to the web. If you just rewrap the avchd files into a qt file then import ive always found it works better
