For rolling credits, I usually type everything out in Illustrator and animate one long vertical movement in After Effects (…with a tiny [.15-.25] Gaussian blur to soften the text).

Add 844x to one of the great systems killed all too young. Excellent product, horrible market awareness on the part of the company at launch.

Try JoesFilters.com. They have a quality levels filter that let’s you remap 0-255 <-> 16-235.

Try VIEW>>VIDEO PLAYBACK>>DIGITAL CINEMA DESKTOP PREVIEW (one of those options) and make sure VIEW>>EXTERNAL VIDEO>>ALL FRAMES is on.
I run the 15-inch MBP and use the 23″ monitor with no problem.

Just to put it into historical context…
Intel released Core 2 Duo chips in July ’06 before the first MacBook with the same chips hit markets in November ’06. Using the same logic (…yes, it’s a stretch — BUT IT’S FUN!!!), we should expect Octo-Core around April.
NAB 2007 maybe?

-Decklink 5.6I run it with an internal 4-drive RAID expansion and external FW800 card + GRAID. Enjoy.
