  • You don’t need to save the layers as different files. Simply save your Photoshop document and import that into FCP. Final Cut Pro will import your PSD as a sequence, and in that sequence will be your two layers with their original transparency.

…also, make sure to delete any unnecessary alpha channels in your Photoshop document.

    Good luck!

Multiple streams for 10-bit in multicam view seems like a good application for the Apple ProRes codec…

    I’m happy 😉

    “slightly biased” — that’s funny.

Fortunately, you put out great products. So your favoritism is well founded. Keep up the good work!

The dollar is reaching new highs against the British Pound every day. Currently around 2:1…that’s right two dollars buys one pound. Yikes!

PhotoJPEG will give you full size, OfflineRT will not. Try different presets using the Quality slider within the PhotoJPEG capture settings and see what works best for you in terms of storage vs. image quality. The files sizes can be really tiny, but still look pretty good.

    Enjoy.

I make use of the PhotoJPEG codec at anywhere from 10-50% quality for offline. In addition, if physical frame size is not an issue, I’ll use OfflineRT as well. In both cases, I’ve edited projects with over 90 hours of material.

Walter, I’m going to pile on…

I am an African-American male from an environment that, let’s say, traditionally doesn’t have access to the types of creative tools produced in the price range of Discreet and Avid. Since Apple, Quicktime, and Final Cut came along the game has changed entirely and now rests on one thing:

    Creative talent.

If you have IT, you have now worries. If you don’t, I’m going to eat your lunch. Evolution doesn’t stop just because you found a nice place to rest.

If he gets the upgrade with Color, isn’t he actually saving $24,500?
