dropped frames? try turning on the stop capture on drop frame feature

i think i had the same problem…….,the update seemed to have worked and i just compressed 8 dvds at once with compressor 2 and it didnt crash..

if i am working on a render intensive job, i usually just hit render all whenever i take a long break, or grab a bite to eat.

umm, a good workaround would be.
transfer the tape to a new minidv tape, then try to capture that.
also, you could try capturing it without timecode,

i usually “save as” new everyday before i start to work, with the date embedded in the file, and keep them all in a folder (or two on different drives just incase)
if you hit save, it’ll just save over where you are.

i do streaming work for harvard, and we unfortunbatly are stuck using realplayer……i do however believe that sorenson3 is your best bet tho.

dont know if this helps, but you can export multiple clips in QTpro, just open them all up, and export each of them. it will do quite a bit.
