    um, when printing to tape, why dont you just plug in your hdtv setup into the deck so you can see it from that end?

    ive never had issues using dv avi files in my fcp timeline…dont even think i needed to render come to think of it.

    also…. dont forget to repair your permissions a lot, inbetween installs. and i believe you need to have your tiger disc, and boot from that to work properly nowadays.

    you know, i have my monsterous g5 at the studio. but i got a 14inch ibook and it runs fcp4.5 (havent gotten studio yet) and dvdstudiopro rather nicely.

    slower on the render side of things, but heck, i got a g5 for that!

    the ibook is great, the screen is nice, and running fcp hasnt been an issue. and its cheaper than a pb.

    what you can do is install it on your powerbook. as long as your not on the network at the same time with your machines, your good to go.

    i.e. you can use the fcp on the notebook at home, fine, but at your office, if yoru connected to the same network as your big edit machine, you just cant have both in the same network.

    thats exactly what i edit with. is it dual processor? mine is. thats my one question.

    i bought mine from mac 2 years ago this coming august, and it still handles well. i love it.

    print it to dvcam tape, or minidv tape, and bring it to a transfer place.

    i have a client that never wants audio delivered over -10db….would this work….im not much of an audio guy?
