The way to save – Project Workflow
Hi,
I tried to search this and have not found what I’m looking for, so forgive me if this is a repeat post.I just moved to FCP from Premiere Pro and what I used to do for Premiere was save multiple copies of my project to prevent corruption problems. Usually, if I crashed on a project, It would corrupt that file and it would be unopenable. So I would just go on to the latest project version I saved. Kinda like a ‘manual autosave’ that actually worked well and saved me numerous times.
With FCP, it looks as though it was made to have only one .fcp project file because when I save copies of that it makes new capture scratch and render folders…sometimes making folders on the system drive which is not good for me. Premiere always kept the same folder directory, even with multiple copies of the same project.
So my question is, do I have to create only one .fcp project file and rely on the ‘autosave’ feature in FCP? Having already crashed once in FCP, I noticed that ‘autosave’ doesn’t seem to keep the very last file version I had been saving and I lost some valuable editing time.
Is it possible to create copies that point to the same capture and render files?
Thanks,
