February 16, 2006 at 8:14 pmI machine was purchased in the fall of 2004 and is out of warranty. Apple does not sell the Apple Care extended warranty in Florida. The tech is from my local Apple reseller and they are an Apple certified repair center.

February 16, 2006 at 9:50 pmwe are all sorry for your loss. It’s rare that a Mac dies in flames like that but it does indeed happen.
When you have some spare time, take a few hours to search the Web for G5 case hacks. People have done some incredible stuff with these elegant boxes from stereo racks to making beer coolers to making a huge iPod dock.
