If you captured using “Capture Now” from the very beginning of the tape, or had it set to uncontrollable device, or if you captured across timecode breaks then you will not be able to batch capture this material.
What you should do now is properly log and capture these tapes. Then you’ll have to edit this material back in and match it by eye.
In the future, always use Log and Capture. That way, if you need to recapture material, you can. If you use “Capture Now”, or capture across timecode breaks, you’ll never be able to rebuild an edit easily.

You need a TrueType version of that font if you want to use it with FCP. There are many places on the web to quickly buy & download fonts. I usually use linotype.com or fonts.com

In QT Pro, look under the “File” menu for “New Movie Recording”. You can refer to the QT Pro help for more information.
Also, check your Vegas manual to see what your options would be if you wanted to use Vegas.

Go to kenstone.net and look up “media manager”. He has an article geared towards FCP v4.x that gives a good rundown of how to use the Media Manager to do this. That specific section starts around halfway down the article.

You really need to use a warper to do this. AE & Shake both include warping tools. You might be able to buy a warp plug in from someone like CHV, Boris or Red Giant.

I use a beautiful butcher block trestle table that fits 3 monitors, speakers a Wacom tablet & a mixer. It’s very comfortable for me, particularly since I’m a bit short, & it’s waaaay nicer than all of those (IMO) overpriced “high-tech” consoles made from laminated particle board. It cost me $200 or $300 at Ikea a couple of years ago.
They also have a good line of office furniture, much of which is modular & can be configured for length, width, height and finish.

FWIW, I don’t use the slug anymore. I make a “blank” .png, .tif or .tga in Photoshop that has an all black alpha. That way, you don’t need to use the crop, you just drop the TC reader into it, and again adjust the starting time to match your timeline.

If you don’t have Shake, you could use a displacement map in AE, using the fractal noise to generate the map. In Motion, you might be able to do the same thing using a displacement filter & a particle generator (one of the smoke or fog presets) to create the map.
