I can’t recommend Photoshop strongly enough. I don’t know how anyone made movies or videos before photoshop. It’s one of the most useful utility programs for post that I know of.
I’ve used PS to cut mattes, make titles, background elements, etc. PS Extended even lets you open up a video file to paint or use PS filters on individual frames.
Oh, you can also use it to resize photos & change the colorspace.

This all depends on the lab. Many labs can deliver whatever and however you want. Some can only deliver a few specific ways. The lab you choose can tell you what they can do, and what each option costs.

On Location used to be Serious Magic.
VeeScope Live, Scopebox and Conduit all do this without needing FCP.

This is detailed in the LHe manual. I actually downloaded the manual for the LHe & looked this up to double check. I recommend that you do the same.

[Andrew Lang] “For Cable flow, the 3 BNC Cables (SDI IN, SDI OUT 1 and SDI OUT 2) are plugged into their plugs respectively from left to right on the card and then into the “back” of the rack-mounted Kona KL box as well as the deck control cable. I then have my Green/Blue/Red component cables in the video out of the KL box going into their respective component plugs on the broadcast monitor. I also have a black burst generator hooked up to the Ref Video In on the KL box.”
What you do not say is whether or not you’re running the analog cable from the card to the box. If this cable isn’t connected, you have no analog video going into the box.

First you would have to know what codec your client can use. Ask them. If you have the codec installed, you can run the footage through compressor and convert it to that codec. If you don’t currently have it, you may be able to purchase it, assuming that there’s a Mac equivalent.

Bob & David gave you good advice. If your bosses heard that a client with no real audio knowledge was trying to do the same thing with their sound design, they’d probably vent a little “spleen”, and finally end up laughing at the probable results.
If you still want to keep the work “in house”, you can always hire a freelance editor for a couple of weeks, and you can rent a digibeta deck for a couple of days here & there.

Where is the audio peaking in the places where you get the red light on your digi? It sounds like you’re overmodulating, & you probably need to pull the volume down in those places in FCP before laying off to tape.

You can buy a sync generator from Decklink for $300, or from AJA for $400. Both will do all flavors of SD & HD sync. There’s really no excuse not to have a sync generator anymore.
