    Hi,

I’m trying to animate text moving onto a curved screen. I’ve been fiddling around trying to make the text curved so the perspective looks right, but I can’t figure it out. any ideas?

I’ll upload a pic so you can see the screen…

    Thanks

AFAIK, you cannot curve a plane in Motion nor can you create a motion pathe that curves through the #d space. Mark or one of the other wonks may have a better answer for you, stay tuned. Meantime, add a sphere or bulge distortion filter and fake it.

You really need to use a warper to do this. AE & Shake both include warping tools. You might be able to buy a warp plug in from someone like CHV, Boris or Red Giant.

I disagree with the need to go to AE but that decision all depends on your need for realism and your competency with tool sets.

Your reference image shows only a slight bit of curvature, easily accomplished with basic distortion.
