Not possible by default because both hair and dof are post effects. You would have to set the hair object to generate real geometry (generate tab).

You have to add a “Particle Geometry” object to your scene (Objects>Thinking Particles>Particle Geometry).

The spring constraint (constraint tag) might do what you’re looking for.

Yes, GI is the main thing that Advanced Render adds (as well as caustics and few other bits and bobs).
BodyPaint is now part of the Cinema base module, so there’s no extra cost there.

Adding a *little* bit of blur offset will increase the blurring quite a bit. If that doesn’t do the trick you’ll probably have to upscale the bitmap in a photo editor and add some blur there.

The Symmetry object should be inside the HN object — not the other way around. So the heirarchy would be:
HN
-Symmetry
–Polygon Object -
Preferences>General>Reverse Orbit.
First thing I do whenever I work on someone else’s system. 😉

The globes are a viewport option for rotation mode, in place of the rotation bands. Perhaps you changed it by accident? Viewport>Edit>Configure>Display>Rotation Bands.
But they shouldn’t be there unless you’re using the rotation tool, so it could be a corrupted file…?
