nope, I guess you set up Vegas 7 incorrectly and the results speak for themeselves – seeing as thousands of us in the UK/EUROPE/OZ/RSA have done it without problem.

re your audio: any partic reason you need to use protools? Vegas is able to handle pretty much most of anything protools can do, and do it more easily to boot.

have a dig into that subject – you might save yourself some $$$, seeing as already intending to use vegas for part of your project

Targa: yes, could (eg) use quicktime export as TGA sequence, or PNG etc. All the usual quicktime codecs. Or as uncompressed AVI etc

just need to get a script to convert all clips to regions and you’re in a world of bliss, eh?

must be a script for that somewhere – look on Ed’s forum or vasst.com

you COULD use Camtasia or similar to record the powerpoint playback directly on your machine while the audio plays on another device (for sync)

This would give you each project as an AVI in the time it takes to play it through once…

you’re rendering in 4:3 – change the render template to 16:9

also, change the project properties to 16:9 while you’re about it. And Australia makes no difference – 16:9 is universal

    project manager:
when you save a project, you can choose the COPY MEDIA WITH PROJECT tickbox in the Save dialogue and it will do exactly what you requested.

Sequences: Vegas does this with nested Veg project files.
Just create each sequence in its own copy of vegas (ie you can have multiple copies of vegas open at once, inclu one capturing or rendering while you work in another copy)

In the master file, just drop Veg files on the timeline much as you would any media. They can be edited the same as a normal media file.
Can also right click such a veg and edit the original.

    🙂
