am faced with similar question in my house, but have decided most likely purchase is the Dell Inspiron Duo – tablet when one wants it, fast netbook when one needs the keyboard / beefier applications.

I guess you be using a FAT32 formatted drive for the rendered avi? Are those 3 files all max 4GB?
format that drive as NTFS and you shouldn’t have the problem

right click and replace media?

turn on Ripple Edit (CTRL + L) before you drop the media on the timeline.
good idea to turn it off again – leaving it on can be confusing if you’re not used to it
also, there are 3 kinds of ripple – look it up in the help file

drop the veg file of the 12x sped up project on to the timeline of a new project and apply a further 12 x increase etc etc

FWIW, I hear Parallels is a better option than bootcamp, but do some googling

shooting 60p because it’s fast action footage, which I indeed will be slowing down.
re the black preview: ironically, after I posted the request, Vegas started to show ALL frames in the Preview window, and render all as well. Who knows, eh?
