  • ok, heres a simple way as well.

Go down to sears, go to the yard department. Pick up a 2 stroke 50 cc chainsaw. Next Run down town. Proceed to find some one with a video camera. Fallow their line of site, and begin to go on what we in the industry call a ‘killing spree’ it’s cntrl K on the pc and cmd K on the mac.

once sufficiently spreed out, go after the camera man to end the spree. This is essentially your work space. (you can control the time of your work space, using the ‘n’ and ‘b’ key) take the camera, eject the tape and capure this at home. Once you are finishing capturing in you NLE of choice, bring the footage into after effects and fallow the above guide. This will be what you are looking for.

Note, Adobe does not support the mass murder of towns people or travelers. Any killing or ‘sprees’ is done on the accord of the user, and while not violating the eula of adobe programs, may end up in lengthy court times. And while we do not recommend fallowing such things, we do recommend using a mask and gloves to prevent leaving behind evidence, as well as purchasing any hardware in cash as to not leave a paper trail. If you are caught promptly hand over any and all evidence and plead guilty as this will most likely help any chance of reduced sentencing, also pleading insanity may end up yielding no prison time rather time spent in a mental health facility.

ok but seriusly DaMasteRZ has it spot on, I just had too much coffee and am waiting for updates to download.

Please don’t kill people for the sake of any movie, tv show, add or any other visual medium

[GaryAlan] “You can mount the fifth drive in the extra DVD position (unless you have two DVD installed).”

though there are several lugs that run up to this place make sure that it is an ide drive (also known as parallel ata or PATA) you can get adapters as well as trays that help the drive be a bit more snug. But unless you are moving your computer a lot, there is no need.

    [zrb123] “[bockos] “Not frame accurate”

Now that can pose a BIG problem.”

oh, like any vpn, screen sharing app really is? Even remote desktop on a closed lan network isn’t frame accurate. they are close. Also there probably won’t be real time play back.It will be like 10-15 fps at best. Not that it will be slow, more that it will be playing back with staggered frames.

[Lee Berger] “FCP 5 will open XML version 3”

actually fc v5 (the base version) will only go to version 2.0 I believe, but going as far as 5.1.4 will open all the way to the second highest (is that xml version 5?)

yes and no. While it is possible to get something most of the time it’s out of your own stupidity that you get something.

For instance one of the few malware items out there NOW is a trojan mutated from a pc trojan. The only way to get this is to actually download it and install it, including entering in your password. This item comes in the form of a “quicktime codec” installer from a number of adult video sites. To be honest any one stupid enough to install something from a porn site probably deserves this. Admittedly it is elsewhere too. but thats the number one location to find this piece of malware. There are other problems here and there. But very few.

I have little experience with bootcamp and dual booting, what experience I do have suggests few problems. The thing that I can offer you is the macbook pro as well as the mac pro have been rated as the best PC’s for gaming and graphic design by multiple magazines and resources. sorry I can’t offer substantial data, but it is a very stable platform

    edit-
also many plugin makers will allow you to exchange mac to pc serials and keep on trucking with what you have.

try turning it down a touch, also (don’t have it infront of me so I don’t remember the name) but the other adjustment setting up there with screen gain can be tweaked. THough the default is usually suitable there is a reason you can turn it down, as well as up.

It will probably load, and it will “run”

But you will start running across playback issues, and as some one who used a similar computer for a dvcpro hd project, it will be painful. Limit your effects until the end. rendering will kill you.

Than again it may not load, in which case you need to hack the install. Had to do it to get fcs2 onto an old, old g4.

[Matt Larson] “Sorry… I think I’m bitter about not being able to install 10.5 because AE won’t be ready for a while. I’m trying to convince myself I don’t need it! “
    Have you tried it?

I have, and it Does, infact I didn’t have 1 problem with it other than slightly sub optimal render times. I haven’t tried everything, but a messed around an exported a comp from ae7 that I had made.

[SKutny] “Thanks for the suggestions , I’ll keep my eye out in the expression forums and hope that someday AE will include that feature.”

i agree, doing a 45 min corporate video and having a client say “can we get a different font” hurts a lot when you have more than 300 text layers in comps, pre-comps and standing alone. I wish there was a way to ‘rig’ fonts to parent their font to a master text layer so it would just be as simple as changing that layer,
