QuickTime Pro does not add the ability to play any files that the regular QuickTime cannot. It mostly just adds saving and export options.
Like someone else said your computer can play the files because the proper codec was installed along with Final Cut Pro.

If you do a clean install from the ground up Including the OS, then you would not need to use the FCP Remover app because the clean install of the OS would completely erase the hard drive when you do it.
Erase and install, it is much cleaner then an archive and install.

Have media manager copy NOT move that way if something happens during the process there is still the original one there on your old drives.

Use media manager to do the job. It’s much easier and cleaner then trying to move it all manualy.

When installing FCS2 you do not have to enter anything to get quicktime pro, it automatically unlocks the pro features. Simply open the quicktime player and you will see the pro features unlocked.
As for some of your other questions.

Thats NOT so simple as you think. To downgrade to a older version you must do an archive and instal on the OS.

Again just open quicktime player and you will see the pro features unlocked. Those features are actually there with out quicktime pro, but quicktime will NOT let you use them.

That is because the format you are converting the video to is NOT a editing codec it is a delivery codec. HD editing formats, include ProRess, DVCProHD, HDV, and App,e Intermediate Codec.
Convert your video to one of those and you will be fine.
