No, my point was the new features that Vegas will have.

Apple really needs to get on with offering Blu-Ray authoring.
I have tried using Encore on my MAC but I hate it.
I used to use Vegas until I switched over to Final Cut.

I may upgrade the Vegas just to get the Blu-Ray and native
    RED editing…..

Apple will come out with something. When, I don’t know. But when they do, watch out, because they’ve had a couple of years to work on it. As I’ve said before, I think the new FCS will married to the new QuickTime and Snow Leopard. I was hoping to hear something at NAB, but so far, no news.

I’m sure Apple will continue to innovate, after all they’re Apple and innovate is what they do! Don’t jump ship yet! My guess is that you’ll regret it if you do!

I won’t jump ship – I may just upgrade my Vegas app to see if it is worthy.
After using MACS for a few years I hate turning on my PC!! LOL

    Hi Mike,
I’ve been wishing my self that Apple would support more Blueray, but the truth is that now I see very dark the future of that technology and I start to understand why Apple don’t do it.
More than one year ago, I bought a BR recorder to archive my EX-1 footage. At the moment i thought was the best solution. Still thinking that is better than archiving in HDs.
But lately I’m working with Flash memories (recording with the EX-1) and I see much more feasible this “format’ than the BR disks. Smaller than a BR, no moving parts, very high capacity, prices going down, down,..
The truth is that, as I said before, I don’t see a bright future for BR.

I wish everyone would get a MAC and just watch QuickTime movies. That won’t happen either.
I still have clients that want VHS tapes for heavens sake. Some clients are just arriving at the DVD threshold. Most clients understand that watching HD video can be done with most computers.
But for the Indie producer – distributing on Blu-Ray is becoming the norm. I have a few calls a week from producers wanting Blu-Ray. They will get it done with or without Apple’s help. I just want to know if Apple will support Blu-Ray or not? If not fine then I know what I need to do.

Thank Russ, do you know this for a fact?
When do you think Apple will let us know?
    This week??

[Mike Schrengohst] “Will Apple step up to the plate?”

I hate talk like this. Apple does not step up to the plate the build the ball field.

There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.
Don’t let technology get in the way of your creativity!

Don’t let technology get in the way of your creativity!

    I don’t & won’t – like I said I will go forward one way or another.
