Keep in mind it is a photo camera with video capabilities NOT a video camera.

The only way I am aware yo change the creation date of any fine is to change the date on the computer in system preferences and then reexport the file.

There have been several posts here on the cow about using footage shot on the 5D Mark 2 in FCP.
To sum it up, the format that that camera records on is not edit friendly, as it must be converted first.

First off your post is a little confusing as to your machine.

There was never a PowerMac with a Intel Processor, so I assume that you mean that you replaced your PowerMac G5 with a Intel MacPro.
As for your issue.

Final Cut Pro is not a program to migrate. FCP certain components into the OS and during a migration nothing in the OS gets moved, just data user data and apps.
Whenever setting up a new FCP work station always start with a clean install of the OS and and clean install of Final Cut.

What are your timeline settings for the “SD” timeline. Not all flavors of SD are equal. For example DV-NTSC is much worse then DV50.

Fat32 has a file size limit that could easily cause the problem.

Well your answer is quite simple then use the “DVD: Best Quality 120 minutes” preset in compressor.
