You say “FCP HD 4 System”. From what I remember v4 could not do HD what I belive was introduced with 4.5 I could be wrong as it has been a while.
The biggest problem with learning on such an old system is that vary few other people out there are using it. So when you ask a question on how to do this or what is the best workflow for that, the way the most people do those things has changed becaus of newer technology and software advancements.

Depending on your email provider and the email provider of the person you are trying to send it to you may not be able to email it at all. Some email providers put a limit on the file size you can send and receive. So in short email is never a good option.
Posting online is a much better option, you can post larger files and thus higher quality files.
Mobile me is great for this.

Well we haven’t actualy seen his footage so we don’t know for sure. He also did not mention if the background is moving. He may be able to edit around the camera shake.

The camera being locked down is good.
Is there a frame in your video that does not contain the interviewee?
If you do you can do a difference matte.

I don’t use those programs, but it is vary possible they need to be updated to run on leopard.

I say upgrade to the new FCS3 and edit with your new MacBook Pro. That laptop is acutlay faster then your old G5.

Wayne his old machine is a G5, so he cannot run FCS3 on it. FCS3 is Intel only.

10.4 to 10.5 would be an upgrade not an update.
