    How do I go from MAC OS X 10.4.5 to MAC OS X 10.5?

    Hi,

    This may seem like a simple question to answer, however I thought I’ll ask it anyway.

    How can I successfully enable and install MAC OS X 10.5 on my MacBook Pro?

    Note ‘Software Update’ does NOT alert me that there is an update available for MAC OS X.

    Here is my current hardware specifications and I currently run MAC OS X 10.4.5.

    Hardware Overview:

    Model Name: MacBook Pro
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro3,1
    Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
    Memory: 2 GB

    10.4 to 10.5 would be an upgrade not an update.

    Updates are free.
    Upgrades are NOT free.

    You must purchase the newer OS.

    There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.
    Don’t let technology get in the way of your creativity!

    Thanks Zane! This definately makes sense.

    If I was to install the new OS X (10.5), would it overwrite the software I’ve purchased in the last 2 years?

    i.e. I purchased DVDxDV… by installing OS X 10.5, would I need to re-install DVDxDV?
