if you have a laptop shipped to you prior to snow leopard being released, you’ll get tiger. if the laptop has been on the shelf w/ tiger on it but snow leopard is out, they’ll likely either send you a coupon to upgrade or a disc will come with the laptop, i’d assume… “Apple has not sold a computer with tiger on it in almost 2 years. All current computers have Leopard. After friday they will include a copy of Snow Leopard.

If I remember correctly iMovie captures audio differently so you will have to render the audio.
And like the others say if you need time code then you will need to recapture.

Thats why you are using Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC). FCE is extremely limited on the formats/codecs that it can use. AIC is the only HD codec that FCE can use.

If a drive failes to partition then that is a sign that the drive has a physical problem.
I would contact the manufacturer about warranty information because the drive is most likely bad.
