    Hello everyone,

I have a G-speed 7.5 TB drive. I’m trying to repartition the drive from 3 partitions to 5 partitions. I tried Disk Utility, but I keep getting a message saying “file system formatter failed.” So now my drive is erased and I can’t get it to partition at all, even just one partition.

Do I need to use some other software other than Disk Utility?

    I’m running a Mac Pro with 10.5.5.

    Thanks for the help.

If a drive failes to partition then that is a sign that the drive has a physical problem.

I would contact the manufacturer about warranty information because the drive is most likely bad.
